Around the Horn (USED)

Around the Horn captures an era in America during a paradoxical time of innocence and injustice. Set primarily in Austin, Texas, during the summer of 1962, it is a coming of age story of an interracial friendship between two twelve-year-old boys who meet by happenstance, bond as brothers, and are instrumental in leading their All-Star baseball team to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. All the while, they learn valuable lessons about camaraderie, winning and losing, first love, and the evils of prejudice. Around the Horn is a socially conscious, entertaining yarn that will appeal to all ages, especially "baby boomers" with its nostalgic look at an important part of many people's lives.
